Scope
The Belgian Railway Company Infrabel operates the rail infrastructure in Belgium. Infrabel has extensive telecommunication and signalling networks throughout the whole of Belgium. Radius CTS and distributor Wirewave deliver multiple products for their infrastructure to Infrabel.

Project Requirements
Infrabel require a reliable network, and any products used must be durable. Ducts used in troughing must be able to withstand chafing and abrasion as they will share their space with other products for other applications.

- 7–way x 14/10mm Heavy–Duty (HDD) Assembly
Project Solution
Infrabel uses a Radius CTS 7-way x 14/10mm Heavy-Duty (HDD) Assembly for their telecommunications and signalling networks. The assembly is also suitable for horizontal directional drilling applications.
The assembly is laid in a concrete trough or underground alongside the rail network. The Concrete ducts are laid along platforms and railway crossings.
The metal-free assemblies comprise several MiniGlide® thick-walled low friction microducts surrounded with a thin inner polyethylene (PE) sheath and a heavy-duty abrasion-resistant outer PE sheath.
This product was tailored to Infrabel’s needs; many different configurations of Radius CTS Heavy-Duty assemblies are available depending on project requirements.
Project Results
Radius CTS is proud to be able to provide a solution that helps ensure safety and efficiency on the Belgian rail network. The Heavy-Duty Assembly also give confidence that it won’t interfere with any future cable duct added to the concrete ducting troughing.
