Guidelines on the Positioning and Colour Coding of Underground Utilities’ Apparatus

Radius CTS manufacture a comprehensive range of utility cable ducts which are available in a wide range of colours based on Street Works UK colour coding (previously known as NJUG).

Street Works UK is the UK’s only cross-sector trade association representing gas, electricity, water, sewage and telecommunications utility companies, their contractor partners and a range of affiliate companies that provide goods, materials, equipment and services. It promotes best practice and self regulation, working in collaboration with local authorities, national and regional governments.

Street Works UK has published guidelines that give the recommended industry and other underground apparatus depths and colour identification for ducts, pipes and cables. The colours represent the utility service protected within the cable duct to enable visual identification.
