Business Development Manager
Job Title: Business Development Manager
Department / Group: CTS Sales
Location: North of England
Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Business Growth and Strategy
  • Identify new business opportunities, markets, and partnerships to drive revenue growth.
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitors, and potential customer needs.
  • Manage and prioritise leads to convert them into sales opportunities.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with current and potential clients.
  • Understand client needs and deliver tailored solutions that meet their business objectives.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and resolve any issues promptly.

Sales and Lead Generation

  • Develop a sales pipeline and track progress towards business development goals.
  • Qualify and prioritize leads, setting up meetings and presentations.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals to meet revenue targets.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.

Collaboration and Reporting

  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer support teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor and report on business development performance, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in the cables and telecoms industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in B2B sales and client relationship management.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and exploit new business opportunities.
  • Familiarity with CRM software.
  • Analytical and research-oriented mindset.
  • Strong presentation and proposal development skills.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Educated to degree level with engineering, technical, commercial business qualifications and have experience developing and selling standard products and bespoke technical solutions, preferably to the cable, telecom, and utility industries (or similar). An engineering mindset is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent IT and keyboard skills with a sound working knowledge of all MS Office applications

  • CRM functionality and effective use
  • Knowledge of the Industry and/or Radius Systems products and services
  • Knowledge and experience of export procedures ideally within the utilities industry
  • Enthusiasm for driving positive change and process optimisation.

Buyer
Job Title: Buyer
Department / Group: Supply Chain / Purchasing

Purpose of the Role

The Junior Buyer will support the purchasing function at the Lurgan site by assisting with day-to-day procurement activities. The role will help ensure that materials and services are ordered accurately and on time, supplier and system data is maintained correctly, and internal stakeholders are supported to meet operational requirements. This position offers hands-on experience of MRP systems, supplier communication and core procurement processes within a manufacturing environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support the effective use of the MRP/ERP system (Syspro) to review demand and raise purchase orders in line with production requirements.
  • Raise purchase orders and process requisitions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate supplier, pricing and part information within the ERP system.
  • Monitor the progress of purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Liaise with internal departments, including Production, Planning and Finance, to understand purchasing requirements and priorities.
  • Obtain supplier quotations and support tendering and pricing activities.
  • Assist senior buyers with supplier negotiations and sourcing activities.
  • Support the review of supplier performance and escalate delivery, quality or pricing issues as required.
  • Assist in identifying cost-saving and continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
  • Support invoice queries and resolve pricing or quantity discrepancies in conjunction with Finance.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing function.

Main Accountabilities

  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure purchase orders are raised accurately, promptly and in line with demand.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date data within the MRP/ERP system.
  • Support on-time-in-full (OTIF) delivery performance to meet production needs.
  • Assist with effective supplier relationship management.

Essential

  • Experience using an MRP/ERP system
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, with working knowledge of Word and Outlook (or equivalents)
  • Ability to build effective working relationships internally and externally

Desirable

  • Experience of collating requirements and issuing supplier enquiries to tight deadlines
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment

Stockyard Admin
Job Title: Stockyard Admin
Department / Group: Supply Chain / Logistics

Roles and Responsibilities

The Stockyard Admin will assist with the stockyard administration, including producing all relevant documentation relating to despatch movements.

Key objectives include:

  • As part of the role, you will help control vehicles entering the stockyard.
  • Assist with the daily loading/unloading requirements including completion of despatch notes.
  • You’ll ensure all company stock products are recorded or transferred accurately, monitoring, and reporting on stock accuracy to defined departmental KPIs.
  • Helping with order picking, cycle counts and stocktaking.
  • With a full understanding of the stores and yard stock control systems, you will contribute to all business health and safety initiatives.

This role will require flexibility to accommodate a fast-moving market on rapid demand and delivery measures; you will liaise with the Logistics Supervisor and across departments to achieve all logistic related targets

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Demonstrate a good basic standard of education as well as a working knowledge of Stockyard Yard/Warehouse environment. You will also have a sound knowledge of modern information technology, including Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management systems.
  • Well organised, working with a high attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated individual with the flexibility to adapt and develop new skills.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written, you’ll be able to deal with a variety of loading challenges.
  • Good numerical skills are essential for this role.
  • Willingness and ability to cover other general duties and cover holidays within the logistics function is also essential

Stockyard Operator
Job Title: Stockyard Operator
Department / Group: Supply Chain / Logistics

Roles and Responsibilities

The Stockyard Operator will be loading trailers and ensure all required products are loaded onto the relevant trucks to ensure accurate, cost effective and on time deliveries to meet customer needs. Assist with stock taking. Ensure all products are properly packaged and available for safe transport. The Stockyard Operator will also be required to work with and provide cover for the Stores Co-ordinators during leave and busy periods.

Key objectives include:

  • Reporting to the Stockyard Supervisor, work within the logistics team to assist with the daily loading/unloading requirements including completion of despatch notes when required.
  • Ensure all company stock products are recorded and transferred accurately.
  • Carry out loading requirements safely with a high degree of care to ensure goods aren’t damaged during the loading process.
  • Be flexible to meet business needs.
  • Liaise with the Stockyard Supervisor to achieve all logistic related targets.
  • Develop a good understanding of the stores and yard stock loading plans.
  • Complete daily checks to all equipment and record and report any faults.

Contribute to all business health and safety initiatives and follow all side safety rules, always demonstrating good practice and challenging bad practice

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • A self-motivated individual with integrity.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to deal with a variety of loading challenges.
  • Willingness and ability to cover other general duties and cover holidays within the logistics function.
